Discrimination:
Mix
1mL Citral with 2mL Sodium Bisulfite Liquor and two drops of
Anhydrous Sodium Carbonate Liquor(1+8) together. When the mixture become white crystal solid after being
heated, add 10mL Sodium Bisulfite Liquor. Shake and heat the mixture
in water. The crystal melts and the lemon aroma fades away.

range and dosage:
(1)It
is stipulated in Chinese "Hygienic Standards for Food Additives
in Use"(GB
2760-1996)that,
appropriate dosage of the substance can be applied in confecting
varieties of foodstuff flavoring essence according to production
needs.
(2)Stipulated in FEMA, the highest reference dosage of the substance
employed in different foodstuff is respectively as follows: in soft
drink,9.2㎎/㎏;in
ice cream and other edible ice foodstuff,23㎎/㎏;in confection,41㎎/㎏;in baked and roasted food,43㎎/㎏;in
gum,170㎎/㎏。
(3)Actual
employment reference:
the substance is extensively employed in foodstuff flavoring
essence, for example, apple, cherry, Ginger, Grape, Lemon, Lime,
Orange, grapefruit, spices and herbs, Strawberry, vanilla essence.
Density of the final flavored product is about 0.004%, which reaches
as high as 0.015%~0.017% in gum.
