Properties

It has three kinds of optical isomers: Left rotated, Right rotated, and Non rotated.

 The Left Rotated isomer is the most commonly existing type in the Natural World. It is contained in Bergamot oil, Lavender, Clary sage, Petitigran Oil, HO Camphor Oil, Rosewood Oil, Citric Oil and Lime oil as well.

 The Right Rotated isomer exists in Coriandrum Oil, Sweet Birch Oil, Orange Oil and Nutmeg Oil etc.. 

 The substance is achromatous to primrose liquid, with boiling point at  198, and flash point at 76. It is not resolvable in water, and just very slightly resolvable in Glycerol. It is resolvable in Ethanol, Propanediol and other Oils.

Producing Metheod

Synthesized with Myrcene, α-Pinene or Linalool Dehydrogenase. It can also be separated from essence oils containing Linalool.

Discrimination:

Take 1mL of the substanceadd 1mL Anhydrous Acetic acid and 1 drop of Phosphonic Acid. Keep it heated for 10min. Add 1mL water and shake the mixture in warm water for 5min. Add Anhydrous Sodium Carbonate Liquor1+8 after it cools down, and adjust the mixture until the liquor becomes slightly alkaline and the aroma of Linalyl Acetate comes out.

Use

Usage Range and Dosage 

1It is stipulated in Chinese "Hygienic Standards for Food Additives in Use"GB 2760-1996that, appropriate dosage of the substance can be applied in confecting varieties of foodstuff flavoring essence according to production needs. 

2Stipulated in FEMA, the highest reference dosage of the substance employed in different foodstuff is respectively as follows: Soft Drink2.0/㎏;Ice Cream and Other Edible Ice, 3.6/㎏;Confection, 8.4/㎏;Baked and Roasted Foodstuff, 9.6/㎏;Jelly Style Foodstuff and Pudding, 2.3/㎏;Gum, 0.8090/㎏;Condiment, 40/.  

3For Actual Employment Reference Linalool has a wide range of functions.  It is usually employed in foodstuff flavors to confect applied flavors such as Lemon, Lime, Orange, Grape, Coca, Pineapple, Black Currant, Peach, Plum, Coco, Chocolate, and other fruit or meat essence and spices.
